Minister Tachrift Launches National Memory and History Sessions

The Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Abdelmalek Tachrift, chaired a broad coordination meeting dedicated to the preparation of the National Sessions for Memory and History project. This initiative directly implements directives issued by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in his message to the nation on National Memory Day. The meeting commenced with a moment of remembrance for Algeria's martyrs and diplomatic heroes, coinciding with the 69th anniversary of the Battle of Algiers and the 64th anniversary of Algerian Diplomacy Day.
During the session, Minister Tachrift reiterated the profound attention President Tebboune dedicates to the national memory file, underscoring its central and steadfast position within the state's public policies. He emphasized that national memory is the authentic property of all Algerian people, and its preservation represents a shared national and societal responsibility. This responsibility is to be collectively upheld by various state sectors, institutions, and all relevant stakeholders, aiming to transcend limited, occasional approaches and foster comprehensive governance, a unified vision, and an integrated national strategy.
The strategic and sovereign dimensions of these national sessions were highlighted, with the overarching goal of safeguarding national memory and ensuring the transmission of its noble message and deep-rooted values to rising generations. The meeting included representatives from diverse ministerial sectors, official bodies, institutions, national organizations, historical associations, and members of the scientific committee. A comprehensive presentation detailing the scientific aspects, thematic workshops, and the executive plan for the National Sessions for Memory and History was delivered by Hussein Abdel Sattar, acting director of the National Center for Studies and Research, and Professor Ahmed Mizab, a member of the scientific committee.
