Oran Conference Highlights Algeria’s Energy Potential, Attracting Global Firms

The 14th North Africa and Mediterranean Exhibition and Conference (NABAC 2026) concluded in Oran, Algeria, after three days of events at the Mohamed Ben Ahmed Convention Center. The conference registered a notably positive outcome, with record participation from major international companies specializing in hydrocarbons and energy sectors. Figures from the event included 511 exhibitors, 240 speakers and lecturers, and a total of 25,717 participants.
Jafaar Yacini, founder and general director of NABAC, stated during a press conference at the event's conclusion that this year's session was "exceptional and successful by all measures." He attributed this success to the high quality of meetings, the conference content, the caliber of speakers and lecturers, and the opportunities that emerged during the three days. Yacini further noted that NABAC has established itself as an international platform for business, investment, networking, and strategic dialogue across the entire value chain of the hydrocarbons, energy, and hydrogen sectors.
The growth and success of the NABAC conference and exhibition are directly linked to the immense potential and numerous opportunities available in Algeria. This is primarily due to the country's extensive industrial experience and diverse energy resources. Additionally, Algeria's distinguished strategic location at the crossroads of Africa, the Mediterranean, and Europe, creates an integrated mix of resources, investments, technology, and international partnerships. This combination has led to increasing interest from companies in the Algerian market, as highlighted by Yacini.
