New Buses Enhance Public Transport in Ain Defla, Mascara

Public transport services across Algeria have seen significant reinforcement with the addition of 44 new buses distributed to Ain Defla and Mascara governorates. This initiative directly implements President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's directive to renew the national transport fleet, aiming to modernize public conveyance options for citizens. The new vehicles are equipped with modern technologies and facilities, meeting current safety and comfort standards to ensure an improved travel experience.

In Ain Defla, the Public Urban and Suburban Transport Company received 20 new buses, increasing the governorate's public transport fleet to a total of 53 vehicles. This expansion has enabled the opening of new transport lines in various districts, including Mekkania, Ain Defla, Rouina, Makhateria, El Abadia, Attaf, and Khemis Miliana. Additionally, existing routes have been bolstered, bringing the total number of lines operated by the company to 24, as confirmed by Mohamed Ben Moussa, Head of the Land Transport Department at the Provincial Directorate of Transport.

Concurrently, Mascara Governorate saw the delivery of 24 new public transport buses to private carriers, which have now entered service. This measure is part of a broader effort to replace buses that have been withdrawn from service, specifically targeting vehicles over thirty years old, in line with presidential instructions. Governor Fouad Aissi oversaw the distribution of operating permits for these buses, which are set to cover rural transport lines across districts such as Tighenif, Sig, Mohammadia, Bouhanifia, and Hachem, alongside several inter-municipal and worker transport routes. Fathi Arhamnia, Director of Transport for the Governorate, highlighted that these additions are poised to significantly enhance travel conditions for residents and elevate the quality of transport services throughout the governorate.
