Joint Operation in Bechar Intercepts 219,000 Psychotropic Tablets

Algerian Customs, operating in coordination with elements of the National People's Army (ANP), successfully seized nearly 219,000 psychotropic tablets in Bechar. This significant operation underscores Algeria's consistent efforts to combat illicit trafficking within its borders.
Specifically, the regional brigade for combating contraband and narcotics of the Customs services in Bechar was instrumental in the seizure of precisely 218,985 psychotropic tablets. The intervention also resulted in the confiscation of a utility vehicle and the arrest of three individuals suspected of involvement in the trafficking. These individuals have since been presented before the competent judicial authorities for further legal action.
This initiative forms part of the ongoing and concerted efforts by Algerian Customs, collaborating with various concerned agencies, to actively counter contraband and the illicit movement of psychotropic substances. Such actions are vital for safeguarding public health and reinforcing national security against organized criminal activities.
