Algiers Hosts Economic Forum for South Korea Investment

The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) and South Korea’s Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) are actively preparing for an economic forum set to take place in Algiers this November. The forum aims to expand investment opportunities, attract new projects from companies of all sizes, and strengthen industrial partnerships between the two nations. This initiative follows a recent meeting in Algiers between AAPI Director General Omar Rekkache and KOTRA head Jang Myoungchul, where discussions focused on the event's objectives and Algeria's business environment.
South Korean interest in the Algerian market extends beyond major corporations to include small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), according to Mr. Jang. Some large South Korean companies are already advancing investment projects in Algeria, and KOTRA has received numerous expressions of interest from businesses considering opportunities in the country. KOTRA's involvement in the upcoming forum is designed to support South Korean companies in their expansion into overseas markets and facilitate their international development.
AAPI has reaffirmed its commitment to assisting South Korean companies in developing and implementing their projects, enhancing their presence in Algeria, and encouraging industrial partnerships. Both sides emphasized the importance of drawing on the successful experiences of South Korean companies already operating in Algeria. These established ventures are seen as a motivating factor for attracting further investment and reinforcing the broader economic partnership between Algiers and Seoul, with the November forum intending to translate investor interest into concrete projects and expanded cooperation.
