Internal Trade Ministry Launches Consumer Complaint Platforms

The Ministry of Internal Trade and National Market Regulation has introduced a new digital platform and a dedicated mobile application designed to bolster consumer protection. Minister Amel Abdellatif announced the launch, explaining that the new tools will enable citizens to report potential violations concerning price adherence, hygiene standards, and any issues that could compromise consumer safety and health.

This initiative follows directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, which called for establishing a daily mechanism to monitor prices and the availability of essential consumer goods nationwide. The digital platform and mobile application are part of broader measures adopted to enhance market oversight, stemming from discussions held during the Council of Ministers meeting on October 18, which focused on implementing a decentralized methodology for tracking market conditions.

In conjunction with these technological advancements, the Ministry has also committed to intensifying its field interventions. Minister Abdellatif instructed regional trade directors to double inspection teams and increase daily onsite checks. These efforts are aimed at ensuring strict price control and guaranteeing the consistent availability of essential consumer products, reinforcing the government's commitment to safeguarding consumer interests across Algeria.
