Kaylia Nemour Wins Second Gold at World Championships in Rotterdam
Kaylia Nemour won a second gold medal at the 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam on Sunday, taking the balance beam title a day after retaining her crown on the uneven bars.
In the beam final, she tied with China’s Zhang Qingying on 14.566, a score confirmed by the Algerian Olympic Committee (COA), and won on the execution tiebreak, claiming her first world gold on the apparatus. She had finished second to Zhang at last year’s championships in Jakarta.
On Saturday, she scored 15.333 on the uneven bars, the only finalist to score above 15 points, to defend the title she won in 2025. Germany’s Helen Kevric took silver with 14.833, ahead of Skye Blakely of the United States, who won bronze with 14.600.
The 19-year-old Paris 2024 Olympic champion had finished fourth in the all-around final on Friday, 0.034 points off the podium. Her bars victory was the country’s first gold of the championships, and the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) praised the routine as an immense performance.
