Mega-Operation Targets Algeria’s Non-Hydrocarbon Exports

Algeria is preparing an unprecedented mega-operation focused on non-hydrocarbon exports, scheduled for Saturday, November 7. Coordinated by the Ministry of Interior and Local Communities, this initiative aims to revitalize the country's non-oil and gas export sector and highlight the significant industrial and artisanal potential across various regions. The operation coincides with the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the start of the national liberation war.

Several national companies from various wilayas are participating in this large-scale endeavor. Among the confirmed participants are Condor, Iris, and Faderco. Condor, a major Algerian household appliance manufacturer, plans to dispatch 400 containers of household appliances and metal frameworks to destinations including Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, and Mauritania. Concurrently, Faderco, a leading Algerian producer of hygienic products, will export approximately fifty containers of hygienic products and raw materials to markets in the United States, the United Kingdom, Tunisia, and Côte d'Ivoire.

This upcoming operation forms part of Algeria's broader strategy to diversify its economy and significantly increase non-hydrocarbon exports. The country previously launched a large export campaign on April 11, which saw companies from 13 wilayas shipping products to 19 countries. Algeria has demonstrated tangible progress in this area, having exported $4 billion in non-hydrocarbon goods during the first eight months of 2026, and is targeting $5 billion in non-oil and gas exports for the full year 2026.
