Investment Promotion Set for Moscow’s ‘Algeria Day’ Event

The Director-General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, held a videoconference meeting with Ahmed Azimov, President of the Algerian-Russian Business Council. This discussion focused on strengthening economic and investment cooperation between Algeria and Russia, building upon the outcomes of the 13th session of the Algerian-Russian Joint Committee. A key outcome of their engagement is the preparation for a dedicated "Algeria Day" event.

The "Algeria Day" is scheduled to take place on the sidelines of the Africa-Russia Summit and its associated economic forum, set for late October in Moscow. The primary objective of this event is to introduce Algeria's extensive investment opportunities to a broader audience. During the meeting, Mr. Rekkache highlighted several promising sectors available for investment, including agriculture, energy, renewable energies, manufacturing industries, the pharmaceutical sector, and medical devices. He also affirmed AAPI's readiness to support investors and facilitate the successful implementation of projects.

In response, Mr. Azimov conveyed the significant interest of Russian companies in investing within Algeria, underscoring the importance of technology transfer and the exchange of expertise between the two nations. He further expressed the Algerian-Russian Business Council's commitment to promoting these investment opportunities and encouraging partnerships between enterprises. This proactive approach by Algerian authorities aims to deepen strategic economic partnerships and attract foreign investment, marking a positive step in bilateral relations.
