Ksar Chellala Welcomes Bank of Algeria’s 60th Branch
The Bank of Algeria officially opened its 60th branch on Tuesday, September 29, establishing a new presence in the wilaya of Ksar Chellala. This expansion brings the total number of the central bank's branches nationwide to sixty. The inauguration ceremony saw the participation of the Vice-Governor and Secretary-General of the Bank of Algeria, the wali of Ksar Chellala, various local officials, general directors of the Bank of Algeria, and representatives from other banks and Algérie Poste.
This initiative aligns with the strategic objectives set by the Bank of Algeria's management, primarily focused on ensuring the consistent availability of liquidity within banks and post offices across the country. A key aim of the new branch is also to significantly enhance and strengthen the quality of banking services offered to citizens, particularly in Algeria's newly designated wilayas.
The operationalization of new branches, including the one in Ksar Chellala, is framed by the legal framework of Law n° 26-06, dated April 4, 2026. This law modifies and supplements Law n° 84-09 of February 4, 1984, pertaining to the territorial organization of the country. The Bank of Algeria expressed its gratitude to local authorities for their support and acknowledged the dedication of its employees in realizing this project.
