Minister Rezig Prioritizes African Market for 2027-2028 Export Program

Minister of Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, Kamal Rezig, has overseen the establishment of an inter-sectoral committee tasked with developing Algeria's official program for participation in external economic events during 2027 and 2028. This initiative, involving various ministerial sectors, public bodies, and professional organizations, aims to formulate a comprehensive strategy for Algerian engagement in international exhibitions and trade shows. A primary directive from Minister Rezig emphasizes giving special priority to the African market within this external economic program, recognizing the promising trade opportunities it presents.

The focus on Africa is intended to enable Algerian businesses to expand their activities and open new markets for their products, thereby enhancing Algeria's economic and commercial footprint across the continent. The minister stressed that national participation should be directed towards destinations and markets that offer genuine opportunities for Algerian companies and products. The objective is to translate participation in these events into concrete partnerships and actual export operations, moving beyond traditional presence to achieve tangible commercial results.

A precise economic and commercial approach will guide the selection of targeted events and markets. This approach will consider each market's specific nature, demand for Algerian products, and sectors with high export potential, alongside opportunities for establishing partnerships and signing trade contracts. The committee is also tasked with organizing specialized exhibitions for Algerian products in key foreign markets, particularly those deemed priorities. This strategy seeks to directly promote national products and foster direct business contacts between Algerian enterprises and their counterparts in target markets, ultimately linking Algerian exporters with international buyers, importers, and distributors.

Minister Rezig has called upon all relevant sectors, public bodies, and professional organizations to contribute to the development of a coherent program. This program must be grounded in clear economic criteria and account for the productive and export capacities of national enterprises, the unique characteristics of external markets, and available trade opportunities in each destination. Emphasis was placed on coordination among stakeholders to ensure the program aligns with the objectives of export promotion policy, directing promotional efforts towards markets that offer the greatest prospects for Algerian products.
