National Council Engages Scientific Diaspora for Development

The National High Council for the Algerian Scientific Community Abroad has formally announced its operational principles and strategic directions, aiming to strengthen collaboration between Algerian scientific professionals both within the country and internationally. This initiative seeks to harness national expertise to advance scientific research, foster innovation, and drive technological development across Algeria. The Council emphasizes the integral nature of the Algerian scientific community, viewing it as a unified system encompassing researchers, engineers, doctors, academics, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
The Council's core function is to connect these diverse competencies, encourage their collaboration, and translate shared knowledge into tangible achievements, without duplicating existing national efforts or replacing established institutions. Its work is guided by five fundamental principles: fostering equal partnership and co-leadership, building initiatives on existing successes while addressing institutional needs, delivering measurable results through transparent evaluation, expanding the network of scientific competencies, and promoting voluntary engagement, scientific independence, and accountability.
Key priorities for the Council include critical domains such as food security, water management, energy, artificial intelligence, education, health, transportation, and environmental protection. The Council is also committed to identifying obstacles within scientific research and proposing practical, sustainable reforms based on reliable data and international best practices. To facilitate this, it has invited scientists, researchers, students, and innovators to contribute their expertise and engage in discussions, working to establish communication channels that enable broader participation of Algerian competencies to further the nation's scientific, technological, and economic progress.
