Oued Smâr Landfill Project Recognized by Arab Environment Council

The Council of Arab Ministers of Environment formally adopted a resolution on Thursday, commending Algeria's notable success in rehabilitating the Oued Smâr landfill. This decision, announced in a statement by the Ministry of Environment and Quality of Life, highlights the regional recognition of Algerian expertise in environmental management.
The resolution specifically praised Algeria's experience in transforming the Oued Smâr landfill into an urban park. This particular project was highlighted for its successful implementation, demonstrating a practical and effective approach to environmental restoration and urban development.
Further reflecting the positive impact of this achievement, the Arab League resolution advocates for the generalization of Algeria's successful rehabilitation model across other Arab countries. This initiative aims to allow other nations in the region to benefit from Algeria's proven methods in environmental management and landfill transformation.
