Over 18 Million Users for Algeria Post Bank Cards

Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Sid-Ali Zerrougui, affirmed the pivotal role of postal workers, describing them as "ambassadors of public service." Speaking at the conclusion of the National Postal Workers Race in Algiers, an event themed "One postal network, infinite possibilities," the Minister emphasized the strategic importance of the postal sector in national development and its contribution to enhancing public service across the country.
Mr. Zerrougui highlighted that the responsibilities of postal workers extend beyond mail and parcel delivery. They serve as a fundamental link between the administration and citizens, fostering social connections through their professional and dedicated service, even amidst challenging weather conditions. This vital public service ensures the provision of postal and financial services nationwide, supported by an expansive network of over 4400 post offices, thereby bringing public services closer to citizens and guaranteeing equitable access.
The Minister further detailed the growing contribution of Algeria Post to national digital transformation efforts. This includes the widespread adoption of electronic payment solutions and the development of e-commerce. Notably, the number of Algeria Post cash card users, encompassing various card types, has surpassed 18 million, while postal current accounts have exceeded 31 million. These figures underscore the significant role of the postal and financial services in the daily lives of citizens and their impact on Algeria's digital inclusion.
