Second Meeting of the Follow-Up Committee on the Algeria–Tunisia Border Areas Development Recommendations Opens in El Oued

The proceedings of the second meeting of the committee monitoring the implementation of the recommendations of the Second Committee for the Development and Promotion of Border Areas between Algeria and Tunisia got under way this Wednesday morning in the wilaya of El Oued, with officials and representatives from both sides in attendance.
The meeting is part of efforts to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation between the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and the sister Republic of Tunisia, and to consolidate the ties of good neighborliness, shared history, and common destiny between the two peoples.
It also reflects the shared will of the two countries’ leaders, Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his brother, Tunisian President Kais Saied, to promote bilateral cooperation across various fields and advance development in border areas, in a way that meets the aspirations of local residents and supports stability and economic integration between the two countries.
The meeting continues with discussions on the progress made in implementing the recommendations issued by the Second Committee, an assessment of what has been achieved on the ground, and a review of mechanisms to speed up the completion of joint development projects in the border areas.
