Algeria Aims to Diversify Funding Sources for Startups and Creative Students

Minister of Knowledge Economy, Startups, and Small Enterprises, Mehdi Yassin Walid, has revealed his sector’s ambition to diversify funding sources for startups and creative students, acknowledging their need for opportunities to support their projects.Diversification of Funding Sources for Algerian Startups and Students .

During the inauguration of the Entrepreneurship Days for young project owners at the International Conference Center, Minister Mehdi Walid stated that students are increasingly turning towards entrepreneurship. He affirmed that Algeria is currently moving towards creating a new, innovative environment for job creation and entrepreneurs.

The minister highlighted the collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, which resulted in a sensitization campaign benefiting a million students across all universities. Mehdi Walid emphasized the campaign’s objective, saying, “It aims to bridge universities with the economic field to create wealth and jobs, support the private sector, and strengthen the relationship between large and emerging companies.”

He also pointed out that Algeria’s expenditure in research and development is still minimal compared to other countries, urging an increase in line with the country’s grand ambitions.
