Higher Education Minister Orders Detailed Residence Inspections

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Baddari, has issued directives for comprehensive, detailed inspections of university residences across Algeria. During a recent remote meeting with directors of university institutions and services, Minister Baddari emphasized the importance of ensuring optimal reception and accommodation conditions for students from the very start of the upcoming academic year. The inspections are mandated to be conducted field-by-field, covering every wing and room of the university residences.

This initiative follows extensive renovation operations that saw 2233 wings in university residences across various regions undergo improvements during the summer. The meeting, which focused on the readiness of various structures for the new academic year, also served as an opportunity to evaluate priority files, including the progress of these renovation works. Discussions also covered pedagogical organization, teaching programs, and coordination between university institutions and their service branches.

Beyond student welfare, Minister Baddari underscored the necessity of strengthening the economic and commercial activities of university economic branches. This directive aims to integrate the university's economic role more deeply, positioning it as an added value within the national economic chain. The Minister reiterated the sector's commitment to continuously improving the living and study conditions for students throughout the nation, aligning with the requirements of the forthcoming academic year and fostering collective mobilization for success.
