Angolan President João Lourenço visited the National Higher School of Artificial Intelligence at the ‘Abdelhakim Ihaddaden’ Science and Technology Pole in Sidi Abdallah, Algiers, on Tuesday afternoon, touring the institution’s facilities and infrastructure.
The Angolan leader was accompanied by Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Kamal Baddari and Minister of State for Hydrocarbons Mohamed Arkab. President Lourenço received a detailed briefing on the school’s scientific specializations and cutting-edge pedagogical tools, including its high-performance data center.
The visit also included a tour of a student exhibition dedicated to startups and innovative projects, highlighting Algeria’s growing tech ecosystem.
The visit comes within the framework of a state visit to Algeria, during which both nations signed a cooperation agreement in higher education, scientific research, technological sciences, and innovation — alongside several other bilateral agreements spanning multiple sectors.
