National Council for Human Rights Commends Algeria’s Youth Empowerment Efforts

The National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) has commended the Algerian state for its significant efforts in supporting youth and promoting their empowerment. This recognition, made public on the occasion of International Youth Day, highlights the constitutional consecration of youth rights and the robust encouragement of initiative and entrepreneurship across the nation. The CNDH noted that these comprehensive strategies are consistent with Algeria's international and regional commitments, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals (ODD).

The state's commitment to youth participation is further evidenced by several key initiatives. The CNDH specifically recalled the establishment of the Superior Council of Youth (CSJ), an institutional mechanism designed to enhance young people's involvement in public life and decision-making processes. Additionally, Algeria's adherence to the African Youth Charter on July 31 underscores its firm dedication to advancing youth rights and their active role in the development process within regional and continental frameworks.

Emphasizing the importance of this demographic, the CNDH stated that youth constitute an "essential pillar in the construction of the new Algeria" and are vital partners in consolidating the rule of law and promoting a human rights culture. The Council also lauded policies that foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and strategic investments in education, training, and digitalization. Reaffirming its own commitment, the CNDH pledged to continue its efforts to promote and protect youth rights, contribute to their development, and strengthen their active participation in building a strong Algeria founded on dignity and the rule of law.
