Algeria Reopens Direct Maritime Line Between Annaba and Civitavecchia, Italy

Algeria has reopened the direct maritime line linking Annaba port with Civitavecchia port in Italy, executing instructions from the Minister of Interior, Local Communities and Transport, Saïd Saioud. This initiative aims to facilitate the movement of citizens and members of the national community residing abroad, while also bolstering the country's transport and maritime connectivity network. The inaugural voyage of this reactivated line recently arrived at Annaba port, carrying members of the Algerian community from Italy.

The reception and processing of passengers and vehicles at Annaba port were conducted under stringent organizational conditions. This coordinated effort involved various services and stakeholders, including maritime border police, customs administration, and port authorities. Such meticulous organization ensured the smooth flow of procedures, rapid processing, and the provision of all necessary comfort and hospitality requirements for travelers, particularly benefiting the national community residing abroad.

This reestablished maritime route is scheduled to operate two voyages per week, addressing the increasing demand for sea transport between Algeria and Italy. Beyond offering additional travel options for both citizens and the Algerian diaspora, the line is expected to solidify communication bridges across the Mediterranean. An initial schedule outlines five voyages in August on the 9th, 19th, 23rd, 26th, and 30th, followed by four voyages in September on the 2nd, 6th, 9th, and 13th.
