SoutH2 Corridor Focus of Algiers Green Hydrogen Talks

The Algerian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AHK Algérie) organized a significant business meeting in Algiers on September 21, focusing on green hydrogen and advanced energy storage solutions. This event was part of a regional business trip spanning Algeria and Tunisia from September 21 to 25, conducted under the German energy export initiative. It brought together experts, representatives from sectoral institutions, ministerial officials from both nations, and numerous companies, aiming to energize bilateral business flows and identify concrete synergies in the ecological transition sectors.

A central element of the discussions was the substantial SoutH2 corridor project, envisioned as a strategic energy bridge to connect Algerian green hydrogen production with European markets. The German delegation present showcased advanced technologies, including electrolysis, water treatment and desalination, storage, compression, industrial equipment, pipeline conversion, engineering, and certification. Participants also received detailed presentations on Algeria's energy roadmap and its national ambitions for renewable energies.

The meeting's agenda extended beyond institutional addresses, featuring interventions from the German Agency for International Cooperation for Sustainable Development (GIZ) and engaging discussion panels, which culminated in a roundtable focused on the future prospects of bilateral cooperation. Scheduled B2B business meetings provided a platform for attendees to forge industrial partnerships, aligning with Algeria's active deployment of its national hydrogen strategy and its accelerated renewable energy program. This dynamic initiative aims to position both partners enduringly on the trajectory of clean energy and technological innovation.
