Illizi Tourism Infrastructure Grows with New Hotel, Guide Cards

The tourism sector in Illizi province is seeing significant advancements, with the regularization of over 200 tour guides and the initiation of professional card issuance. This measure, announced by the Directorate of Tourism and Handicrafts, aims to organize and promote tourist guiding activities within the region. Mohamed Ali Ouyedn, the sector's director, highlighted that this operation represents a qualitative addition to tourism in Illizi, which was chosen as a model for launching this initiative due to its rich tourism and archaeological potential. Wali of Illizi, Ahcen Khaldi, oversaw a symbolic handover of professional cards during the celebration of World Tourism Day.

Parallel to these efforts, a new tourist hotel project located at the northern entrance of Illizi city is making substantial progress, with its construction nearing 70% completion. Officials anticipate that the hotel will become operational by next April. This development is expected to significantly enhance the province's hotel reception capabilities and reinforce its overall tourism infrastructure, supporting the growing demand for accommodations.

Further demonstrating the region's commitment to showcasing its unique heritage, an exhibition of traditional crafts was organized at the Daoudi Souna Center in the El Wiam neighborhood. The event featured craftswomen presenting various products that reflect the rich diversity of Illizi's cultural and historical legacy, contributing to the broader appeal of the province as a multifaceted tourist destination.
