Investment Agency Monitors Automotive Plant Progress

A delegation from the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency conducted a field visit to the SARL COBRAKE AUTOMOTIVE unit in Boufarik, within Blida province, to monitor the progress of its investment project. This project focuses on establishing an industrial unit for manufacturing and assembling vehicle components and spare parts, particularly brake pads. The investment exceeds 200 million Algerian Dinars and is anticipated to achieve an annual production capacity of 864,000 units, alongside the potential creation of 102 direct employment opportunities.

The industrial initiative is underpinned by a technological partnership with a foreign operator, who possesses nearly two decades of experience in the field. This partner holds international accreditations, including ECE R90 and IATF 16949 certifications, ensuring the production of components that comply with all quality and safety standards for supply to the national market. This collaboration highlights Algeria's commitment to enhancing local manufacturing capabilities and delivering high-quality products.

The field visit allowed the agency delegation to assess the pace of construction work and discuss measures aimed at resolving any logistical and administrative challenges encountered by the investor. The primary objective is to expedite the factory's entry into the operational phase as soon as possible, thereby contributing to Algeria's broader industrial development goals and economic diversification efforts.
