AAPI Director-General, Russian Council Chairman Discuss Investment Program

The Director-General of the Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI), Omar Rakache, and the Chairman of the Algerian-Russian Business Council, Ahmed Azimov, convened virtually to discuss enhancing economic and investment cooperation. The meeting, which included Algeria's Ambassador to Russia, Toufik Djouama, focused on concrete steps to strengthen partnerships between the two nations.
Discussions led to plans for a joint action program designed to highlight Algeria's investment potential and available opportunities, while also fostering communication between AAPI and the Russian business sector. Furthermore, the parties addressed preparations for an "Algeria Day" event. This dedicated day will take place during the Africa-Russia Summit and Economic Forum scheduled for late October in Moscow, aiming to introduce Russian businesses to partnership and investment prospects within Algeria. Mr. Rakache identified key sectors for investment, including agriculture, energy and renewable energy, industry and manufacturing, the pharmaceutical industry, and medical devices, alongside other promising areas.
AAPI reiterated its commitment to supporting investors and facilitating the realization of their projects, thus enhancing the business environment and economic partnerships between Algeria and Russia. Mr. Azimov confirmed significant interest from Russian companies in investing in Algeria, stressing the importance of technology transfer and experience exchange between Algerian and Russian enterprises. The Algerian-Russian Business Council expressed its readiness to help publicize Algerian investment opportunities and encourage the formation of partnerships. This latest engagement serves as a follow-up to the 13th session of the Algerian-Russian Joint Committee, which took place in Moscow from June 24 to 26, 2026.
