AAPI Promotes Algerian Investment to Russian Companies

The Algerian Agency for Investment Promotion (AAPI) has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Russian investors and facilitating their projects in Algeria. During a videoconference, AAPI Director General Omar Rekkache, alongside Algerian Ambassador to Russia Toufik Djouama, met with Ahmed Azimov, President of the Algerian-Russian Business Council, to discuss ways of strengthening the economic and investment partnership between the two nations.

During the meeting, Mr. Rekkache outlined Algeria's primary investment opportunities for Russian operators. These opportunities span crucial sectors including agriculture, energy, renewable energies, general industry, processing industries, the pharmaceutical sector, and medical devices. Both parties also examined the implementation of a joint action program designed to highlight Algeria's assets and investment prospects to Russian companies, fostering stronger engagement between the AAPI and the business community to attract investments and realize high value-added projects.

Preparations for a "Day of Algeria" were also discussed, set to occur in Moscow during the Africa-Russia Summit and its accompanying Economic Forum in late October. This event will serve as a platform to introduce Russian investors to various sectors and projects open for investment in Algeria. Ahmed Azimov conveyed the interest of Russian companies in investing in Algeria, particularly emphasizing the importance of technology transfer and expertise exchange. The Algerian-Russian Business Council expressed its readiness to contribute to promoting these opportunities and encouraging partnerships. This meeting forms part of the ongoing implementation of conclusions from the 13th session of the Algerian-Russian Intergovernmental Joint Commission, which convened in Moscow from June 24 to 26.
