Tamanrasset Forces Arrest Four, Recover Over 80kg Cocaine

Joint detachments of the Algerian National Popular Army (ANP) conducted a successful operation on September 30 in the Tamanrasset military sector, within the 6th Military Region. The operation resulted in the elimination of one drug trafficker and the arrest of four other armed individuals. Forces seized more than 80 kilograms of cocaine, which was being transported aboard three utility vehicles.

Further details from the operation indicate the recovery of a significant arsenal. ANP units seized one FMPK machine gun and one Kalashnikov submachine gun, along with a considerable quantity of ammunition. Additionally, four mobile phones were confiscated during the intervention, which forms part of ongoing efforts to secure national borders and combat smuggling networks and drug traffickers.

These achievements on the ground reaffirm the effectiveness of the High Command's approach in countering organized crime and illicit trafficking. The results also highlight the unwavering vigilance of all Algerian National Popular Army units and their determination to thwart criminal attempts aimed at introducing and circulating harmful substances within national territory.
