Government Delivers In-Kind Aid to Fire-Hit Farmers

The Algerian government is continuing its efforts to compensate farmers in the wilayas of Jijel and Béjaïa who were affected by recent forest fires. These ongoing operations are part of a broader program designed to support those impacted and revive their agricultural activities. The initiatives are implemented in accordance with instructions from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and directives issued by Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud.

A key aspect of this support involves the provision of in-kind indemnities. In Jijel, the compensation process includes the delivery of livestock to farmers. To date, three consecutive shipments of cattle have been provided, specifically aimed at rebuilding the animal wealth in affected areas and enabling farmers to resume their operations. This direct form of aid targets the restoration of crucial agricultural assets.

Similarly, in the wilaya of Béjaïa, the initial phase of distributing in-kind compensation has commenced within the municipality of Ouzellaguen. This process, overseen by local and agricultural services, is set to continue in the coming days to reach all eligible beneficiaries. The overarching goal of these operations is to provide necessary assistance to fire victims, helping them restore their farming activities and thereby relaunch agricultural production and animal husbandry in the regions that suffered losses.
