New FIFA Ranking Places Algerian Squad at 28th Globally

Algeria's national football team has achieved a two-rank improvement in the latest FIFA world ranking, provisionally securing the 28th global position. This ascent places the team with a total of 1574.77 points, reflecting a positive shift in its international standing. This marks a notable progression from their previous 29th rank observed before the recent international fixture window.
The team's climb in the rankings is attributed to a series of recent performances, including a 3-1 victory against Zambia and a 2-2 draw with Burundi. A friendly win against Niger, with a score of 2-1, particularly contributed to this upward movement, adding 1.78 points to Algeria's total. These results underscore the team's consistent efforts during their first international gathering under new leadership.
Within the African football hierarchy, Algeria now provisionally holds the fourth position. The national team's improved standing places them ahead of Côte d'Ivoire, which has dropped to 29th place globally, and Nigeria, now ranked 30th. This advancement highlights Algeria's competitive presence on both the continental and international stages.
