National Team Wins Friendly Against Niger; Bensebaini Sets Scoring Record

The Algerian national football team achieved a 2-1 victory over Niger in an international friendly match. The Desert Warriors, playing at home, secured the win after falling behind early in the contest. Mohamed Belloumi initiated Algeria's comeback, leveling the score in the 54th minute with a skillfully executed free-kick.

Defender Ramy Bensebaini sealed the win by converting a penalty, marking his 10th international goal for Algeria. This significant achievement places him as the national team's highest-scoring defender, surpassing Aisa Mandi's previous record of eight goals. The penalty opportunity arose after Niger's Mohamed Abdouramane fouled Algerian substitute Adil Boulbina, leading to Bensebaini's powerful strike into the bottom-left corner.

Head coach Brahim Hemdani had initially opted to rest several first-team stars, including Bensebaini, who started the match from the bench after completing 90 minutes in recent Africa Cup of Nations qualifying games. However, with Niger holding a lead at the break, Hemdani introduced key players, a strategic move that proved successful in turning the contest around for Algeria. This positive result concludes the national team's international camp.
