Framework Law to Unify Algerian National Heritage

In line with directives set by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on the 81st anniversary of the May 8, 1945 massacres, Algeria's Presidency is spearheading a significant national initiative. This effort focuses on two strategic projects: the upcoming organization of inclusive national sessions dedicated to memory and history, and the simultaneous development of a framework law pertaining to national memory. These endeavors underscore a commitment to solidifying the nation's historical narrative and cultural identity.
The sector of Moudjahidine and Rights Holders, under the leadership of Minister Professor Abdelmalek Tachérifet, is intensifying preparations for these initiatives. To ensure a participative approach, the Minister has engaged in extensive consultations with representatives from the revolutionary family and various specialized national institutions. These future sessions are envisioned as an academic and civic forum, bringing together researchers, historians, and civil society actors to address contemporary issues of national memory.
Furthermore, the ongoing framework law project aims to establish a robust legislative instrument for Algeria, honoring the sacrifices of freedom's martyrs. The goal is to protect and unify the treatment of national historical heritage, while rigorously and faithfully transmitting the epic of popular resistances and the Glorious November Revolution to younger generations. Contributions from revolutionary family representatives have been instrumental in enriching the proposed text and refining the organization of the national sessions.
