2027 Finance Bill Aims for 4.2% Growth, Improved Living

Minister of Finance Mohammed Lamine Lebbou presented the 2027 Finance Bill (PLF 2027) to the Finance and Budget Committee of the National People's Assembly (APN). The proposed legislation outlines a comprehensive state financial policy aiming to support economic growth, improve citizens' living conditions, and ensure the sustainability of public finances. This presentation, attended by Committee President Abdelhafid Brima and Minister of Relations with Parliament Nadjiba Djilali, signals a clear governmental focus on robust economic development and social welfare.

The 2027 Finance Bill projects a 4.2% economic growth rate for the upcoming year, underpinned by measures designed to strengthen macroeconomic stability and provide new impetus to economic diversification. Key directives include supporting productive investment, expanding the fiscal base, and enhancing the mobilization of resources. The bill emphasizes a balanced approach to public investment and social transfers, ensuring both sustained economic progress and the preservation of citizen purchasing power.

Further provisions within the bill are dedicated to simplifying administrative procedures, accelerating the modernization of public administration, and reinforcing fiscal obligations. It also aims to enhance transparency and combat fraud and tax evasion. Notably, the 2027 Finance Bill introduces a mechanism for the exceptional voluntary regularization of funds, allowing individuals residing in Algeria to declare previously undeclared capital. This initiative forms part of broader efforts to integrate informal capital into the formal economy.
