Oum El Bouaghi Forces Dismantle Criminal Network, Seize 20,000 Psychotropics

The Search and Intervention Brigade of the Oum El Bouaghi Wilaya Security has successfully disrupted a criminal network attempting to traffic a significant quantity of psychotropic substances. This operation, conducted in the Oum El Bouaghi province, led to the seizure of over 20,000 psychotropic units, reaffirming the ongoing commitment of Algerian security forces to combat drug-related crime.

According to a statement from the Wilaya Security's Communication Office, the operation was initiated following intelligence reports indicating that suspects were attempting to transport psychotropic substances from a southern wilaya using a utility vehicle. Following thorough investigations and the implementation of a meticulously organized field plan, authorities were able to identify and track the vehicle and the individuals involved.

The operation culminated in the apprehension of the suspects and the discovery of 20,007 capsules of Pregabalin 300 mg, which were skillfully concealed within the vehicle's structural cavities. After all necessary legal procedures were completed, the two suspects were presented before the competent prosecutor at the Ain Fekroun court. This successful intervention underscores the persistent field efforts by the Oum El Bouaghi police to eliminate sources of drug and psychotropic trafficking.
