Algerian National Security services have successfully dismantled an organized criminal network involved in hard-drug trafficking within the Tamanrasset region. The operation resulted in the seizure of more than 82 kilograms of cocaine and 1.2 million dinars identified as suspected criminal proceeds. Eight suspects were arrested in connection with their direct involvement in the network's activities.
The specialized operation was carried out by Tamanrasset’s provincial security services. This action falls under the ongoing national efforts to combat cross-border organized crime, conducted under the direct supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, underscoring a coordinated approach to law enforcement.
This seizure represents a significant achievement in Algeria's broader campaign against drug-trafficking networks operating in the southern parts of the country. The region holds strategic importance in efforts to counter various forms of cross-border criminal activity, making such interdictions vital for national security and public well-being.
