MDN Exposes Extensive Forest Fire Plot

Algerian television, national radio, and official platforms of the Ministry of National Defense (MDN) and the Algerian Press Service (APS) recently aired a documentary titled "Revelation of the plots of treason and the networks of collaboration." This documentary detailed the results of investigations by the MDN's security services into recent forest fires across several wilayas. The investigations uncovered an extensive and heinous plot orchestrated by external parties, with the assistance of individuals recruited within Algeria, designed to weaken the nation and undermine its unity.
The documentary presented confessions from arrested individuals and information derived from the investigations, which led to the detention of three Algerian nationals. These individuals were suspected of direct involvement in igniting fires in the Didouche Mourad and Djebel El Ouahch forests in Constantine, as well as other fires in Guelma. Arrested individuals Boutamina Abdelkrim and Amrani Abderraouf reportedly disclosed their connections to the terrorist Amir Boukhors, also known as "Amir DZ," and communications with other terrorists Larbi Zitout, Hichem Aboud, and Karim Moulai. These figures allegedly exploited social vulnerabilities and a desire for financial gain to recruit individuals within the country, promising wealth and financial aid in exchange for carrying out subversive tasks targeting Algeria's security and resources, including destroying national wealth and inflicting losses on its people.
Investigations, as presented in the documentary, indicated that these activities extended beyond simply starting fires. The plot also aimed to sow discord and create a state of insecurity and instability within Algerian society, with the terrorist Amir Boukhors reportedly stating, "The country must be burned." The documentary further revealed methods of blackmail and coercion allegedly used to entice individuals into executing these plans. For instance, Yacine Boulgroune was identified as using his profession as a barber to conceal suspicious activities in recruiting agents for Amir Boukhors, reportedly receiving apartments and commercial properties in Algeria and France for his collaboration. Technical investigations by the MDN's security services reportedly recovered a video recording made by Boutamina during his participation in an aid convoy for those affected by forest fires in Jijel, a maneuver believed to be an attempt to hide his involvement. The scope of the plot also reportedly encompassed attempts to establish hostile movements within the national political arena to serve the interests of the financiers and facilitate their agents' access to positions of responsibility.
The documentary concluded by affirming that Algeria, despite the conspiracies and attempts to compromise its security and stability, remains impervious to traitors and conspirators. It highlighted that the nation's flag will continue to fly high due to the unity of its people and the cohesion of its institutions. The forest fires, intended to destabilize the country and cause significant losses to its resources, instead strengthened Algerian cohesion and solidarity, underscoring that all attempts to undermine national unity and obstruct development will be met with the unwavering will of a people committed to protecting Algeria's security and stability.
