Saudi Arabia Named Algiers Book Fair 2026 Guest

Saudi Arabia is set to be the guest of honor at the International Book Fair in Algeria in 2026, an event scheduled to take place from October 28 to November 7 at the Exhibition Palace in the Pins Maritimes district of the Algerian capital. This designation aims to strengthen cultural exchange between Saudi Arabia and Algeria. The selection of Saudi Arabia reflects the close relations between the two countries and acknowledges the development of the kingdom's cultural sector, as reported by Asharq Al-Awsat.

The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission will coordinate Saudi Arabia's participation, organizing a comprehensive cultural program. This program will feature seminars, panel discussions, and poetry evenings with intellectuals, writers, and industry specialists. It is also designed to present Saudi Arabia's literary environment and creative processes across various cultural fields. Government bodies, institutions, and cultural organizations from Saudi Arabia are expected to join the fair.

Visitors to the Saudi pavilion will experience a diverse array of cultural offerings, including folk crafts, traditional clothing, and musical instruments. An exhibition of manuscripts and archaeological replicas is also planned. The pavilion will host Saudi performing arts performances and showcase Saudi films, alongside cultural achievements connected to the Saudi Vision 2030 program. This initiative views cultural development as a vital component of quality of life and a means of fostering cultural exchange among peoples, further enhancing the collaborative spirit of the Algiers International Book Fair.
