Barbarous Divers Recover Ghost Nets Off Oran

Divers from the Barbarous Marine Environmental Association recently conducted an operation to recover abandoned fishing nets, commonly referred to as "ghost nets," off the coast of Oran. This significant initiative was undertaken to address the environmental impact of discarded fishing gear in Algerian waters.
The operation specifically targeted these neglected nets, which pose a continuous threat to marine life and ecosystems by indiscriminately trapping and harming various organisms. Such proactive efforts are crucial for maintaining the ecological balance and biodiversity of Algeria's vital coastal environment.
The Secretary-General of the Barbarous Marine Environmental Association, Amin Chagouri, provided information about the recovery effort. This operation highlights the ongoing commitment to marine conservation and environmental stewardship along the Algerian coastline, reinforcing local efforts to protect aquatic habitats.
