Czech Prime Minister to Visit Algiers for Investment Forum

Algeria is set to host an Algerian-Czech business forum in Algiers next week, on October 26, 2026. This significant economic event will coincide with the official visit of Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, who will be accompanied by an economic delegation comprising representatives from Czech companies and institutions. The forum's primary objectives are to identify and explore investment opportunities, enhance trade exchanges, and forge new partnerships between economic operators from both countries.
The upcoming forum is designed to open new avenues for cooperation across eight strategic sectors. These include energy, transport and mobility, the aviation industry, agriculture and industrial equipment, health and medical technologies, environment and the circular economy, information and communication technologies, artificial intelligence, international trade, and consulting. It is anticipated that the forum will serve as a direct meeting point for Algerian and Czech enterprises, facilitating the presentation of production capabilities, technical expertise, and the identification of shared needs, ultimately aiming to launch investment projects and cultivate sustainable trade relations.
Promising areas for collaboration span mechanical industries, industrial engineering, and the manufacturing of spare parts and agricultural equipment, leveraging Czech expertise in precision manufacturing and the development of industrial equipment and vehicle components. Opportunities also extend to the transport sector, particularly in railway engineering, public transport, smart mobility solutions, and logistics, as well as the aviation industry and its associated equipment. Such partnerships could foster local maintenance, manufacturing, and the training of Algerian skilled personnel. Additionally, the energy sector presents prospects in production, services, and related technologies, alongside initiatives to enhance resource efficiency and develop technical solutions.
Cooperation in the environment and circular economy sector will focus on exchanging expertise in recycling, valorizing industrial waste, and developing more sustainable solutions. In the health domain, potential partnerships encompass medical equipment, diagnostic technologies, telemedicine, and information technology solutions for healthcare institutions. Furthermore, the application of artificial intelligence is identified as a key area for developing services and improving the efficiency of health systems.
