Development Reaches ‘Point of No Return,’ Benefiting 8 Million Citizens

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune stated that Algeria's comprehensive development trajectory has reached a "point of no return," emphasizing its reliance on clear and precise strategies. This progress aims for integrated benefits across all segments of the population. Notably, approximately 8 million Algerian citizens have already received support from the country's "shadow zones" programs, underscoring the tangible impact of these initiatives.

To further accelerate national progress, President Tebboune urged young Algerians to actively engage in decision-making by seeking candidacy in the upcoming municipal and provincial council elections scheduled for November 28. He stressed the critical importance of strengthening the role of municipalities and encouraging citizens, particularly youth, to participate in local governance. Measures have been implemented to support young candidates, including funding for their electoral campaigns, intended to protect them from corrupt financial influences. The President expressed hope for university youth to assume leadership roles in municipalities.

President Tebboune reiterated that the nation's objective extends beyond immediate governance, focusing on long-term developmental strategies reaching horizons up to 2030 and 2050. He articulated a vision for an Algeria with a projected population of 70 million, likening current efforts to planting for future generations, just as previous generations planted for the present. This ongoing development process also seeks to leverage the expertise of Algerian elites and scientific competencies residing abroad, aiming to ensure continuous national advancement rather than reverting previous gains.
