President Tebboune Guides Memory Law, History Sessions
The Algerian Ministry of Moudjahidine and Rights Holders is diligently working on the implementation of two strategic projects designed to reinforce national memory and history. Minister Abdelmalek Tachrift stated that his services are dedicated to bringing these initiatives to fruition, ensuring all necessary requirements for their success are met through coordination with various official sectors, bodies, and national organizations. These efforts align with the emphasis placed by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on national memory, which he considers a steadfast guardian of national sovereignty and a fundamental foundation for building a victorious Algeria.
One of the key strategic projects involves the organization of National Sessions for Memory and History. This initiative is envisioned as a comprehensive framework bringing together all stakeholders, institutions, scientific elites, national organizations, and civil society. Its purpose is to facilitate evaluation and establish a unified national strategy for the preservation of memory and the effective transmission of its profound message to future generations, ensuring a shared understanding of Algeria's past.
The second strategic project focuses on the preparation of a dedicated law concerning national memory. This legislative reference is intended to provide legal protection commensurate with the immense sacrifices made by martyrs. It will establish frameworks and mechanisms for safeguarding this heritage, thereby honoring the enduring legacy and commitment of those who contributed to Algeria's history.
The Ministry is providing full support for the success of both initiatives. Additionally, Khalifa Smati, Secretary-General of the National Organization of Sons of Martyrs, reiterated his organization's backing for President Tebboune's program, noting its deep resonance with the legacy of the martyrs. He also praised the President's policy aimed at fostering a strong, secure, and stable Algeria, progressing in its development path and engaging with the world on terms of equality and respect.
