NASDA Studies Diaspora Investment in Public Works, Electronics

The National Agency for Entrepreneurship Support and Development (NASDA) has intensified its commitment to support Algerian professionals residing abroad, encouraging them to initiate investment projects within Algeria. This strategic approach aims to attract national expertise and deploy it to foster economic development and generate employment opportunities across the country.

As part of this initiative, NASDA's provincial agencies in Jijel and Setif recently convened meetings for the Project Selection, Accreditation, and Funding Committee. These gatherings saw the participation of representatives from various sectors pertinent to the establishment and support of micro-enterprises, underscoring a concerted effort to integrate diverse professional insights.

During these meetings, two distinct investment projects proposed by Algerian citizens residing abroad were presented and thoroughly discussed. The presentations and discussions were conducted remotely via videoconference, allowing the project proponents to participate effectively without requiring travel to Algeria. One project, led by Qasoum Slim from France, focuses on major public works and irrigation, a sector crucial for infrastructure development. The second project, initiated by an Algerian based in Canada, involves the manufacturing of electronic protection accessories and equipment, showcasing a transfer of specialized technical expertise.

These actions are integral to NASDA's broader strategy to engage with Algerian competencies abroad, providing the necessary support and accompaniment mechanisms. By facilitating the realization of these investment initiatives, NASDA aims to enhance their contribution to wealth creation, establish new job opportunities, diversify economic activities, and strengthen the national fabric of micro-enterprises.
