General Chengriha Directs Gendarmerie on Citizen Trust, Security

General Saïd Chengriha, Chief of Staff of the People's National Army and Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence, officially installed General Ali Seddane as the new Commander of the National Gendarmerie. The ceremony, held in Cheraga, Algiers, was conducted on behalf of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defence.

During the installation, General Chengriha underscored the critical importance of reinforcing citizen trust and intensifying efforts in national security. He emphasized the continuous strengthening of relations with citizens, stating that their sustained trust serves as an essential foundation for the Gendarmerie's mission success. The directives specifically called for an escalated fight against crime, robust border protection, and determined counter-terrorism operations.

General Chengriha also highlighted the National Gendarmerie's effective role in protecting Algeria's borders, combating terrorism, and addressing sabotage, drug trafficking, and related crimes, in addition to securing strategic zones and sensitive locations. He urged all Gendarmerie personnel to continue their work with unwavering determination, perseverance, and sacrifice in service of the nation. Furthermore, he affirmed that leading with professional competence, integrity, and sincerity is a noble and vital responsibility, requiring prudence and foresight in managing personnel and ensuring their comprehensive care, including proper guidance, awareness, training, and preparation for all operational conditions.
