Grand Prix International Algiers Draws 20 Teams from 15 Nations

The 19th Grand Prix International de la ville d'Alger de cyclisme is set to host 20 teams representing 15 countries, according to Khireddine Barbari, head of the Algerian Cycling Federation. This prestigious event, now a consistent fixture on the international calendar, highlights Algeria's capabilities in organizing and hosting major sporting competitions. Details of the upcoming edition were announced during a press conference held at the "France Fanon" hall in the Riadh El Feth office.

Algeria will be prominently represented in the competition by six teams, which include two continental teams, vying for victory across carefully selected urban routes. The multi-stage race is scheduled to take place between October 3 and 9. The official program commences with the Classic Jami'a Algiers on a Saturday, followed by the first stage from Rouiba to Zemmouri on Monday.

The competition continues with the second stage on Tuesday, traversing from Bab El Oued to Tipaza and Sidi Abdellah. Wednesday will see the third stage unfold in Sidi Abdellah. The Grand Prix will conclude on Friday, October 9, with the Classic Central Algiers race and a closing ceremony, underscoring Algeria's growing role in global sports and its commitment to fostering high-level athletic endeavors.
