Guelma Authorities Engage Producers for Agricultural Development

The Wali of Guelma, Samir Chibani, recently convened a significant meeting with local cereal, legume, and oilseed producers to address obstacles hindering agricultural development in the region. This participatory initiative underscores the wilaya's commitment to local development and food sovereignty, demonstrating a direct engagement with farmers' concerns. The gathering took place at the wilaya headquarters and involved key stakeholders from the rural sector.
The primary objective of the consultation was to conduct an unvarnished assessment of field difficulties and formulate concrete solutions to enhance agricultural activities. Producers were given the opportunity to voice major constraints within their sectors, leading to the articulation of several structuring proposals. Discussions primarily focused on improving support mechanisms for farms and removing barriers impeding regional agricultural growth.
Wali Chibani emphasized the necessity of close coordination among all sector participants, asserting that active listening and continuous dialogue are crucial for developing appropriate responses. He called for a collective mobilization of all stakeholders to reinforce national agricultural output and mitigate import expenses. This meeting, which also included the President of the Wilaya Popular Assembly, National Popular Assembly elected officials, local administration officials, and representatives from supervisory bodies, signaled that Guelma's agricultural development remains a shared strategic priority for public authorities.
