Iraqi Justice Minister Invited to Arab Ministerial Meeting in Algeria

Algeria is set to host the forthcoming meeting of the Council of Arab Justice Ministers, a significant event aimed at enhancing regional legal collaboration. The Algerian Minister of Justice, Lotfi Boujemaa, extended an official invitation to his Iraqi counterpart, Khalid Shawani, for participation in the gathering. The invitation was formally delivered in Baghdad by Jihad Eddine Belkas, the Algerian Ambassador.
Iraq has expressed a strong desire to attend the ministerial assembly, underscoring the importance of such forums for fostering communication and coordination among Arab justice ministers. The Iraqi side views the meeting as a crucial opportunity to reinforce prospects for joint judicial cooperation across the Arab world, contributing to collective legal frameworks.
Beyond broader regional aims, the discussions during the meeting are anticipated to include specific bilateral objectives between Algeria and Iraq. Both nations aim to further develop their existing relations and explore the potential signing of a memorandum of understanding concerning the transfer of convicted persons. This initiative, alongside broader legal and judicial cooperation, is intended to serve the common interests of Algeria and Iraq.
