Italy-Algeria Cooperation Targets Digital Tourism Promotion

Algeria's Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts plans to establish a digital platform to promote Algerian tourism, utilizing the Italian platform "My Temple Art." This initiative seeks to ensure a robust digital presence commensurate with Algeria's national and international tourism potential, reflecting a strategic move towards showcasing the country's diverse attractions globally.

The project's advancement follows a meeting between Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Houria Meddahi, and representatives of the Italian company "Ck Cooperation S.r.l," including Algerian expatriate official Karim Benadjoud and General Manager Gianni Paschetto. This high-level engagement was preceded by a technical working session where ministry officials and Italian company representatives reviewed Algeria's tourism assets and discussed effective promotion strategies. The discussions underscored the importance of leveraging digital channels to present Algeria's offerings to a wider international audience.

During the meeting, Minister Meddahi commended the enduring depth and recent dynamism of Algerian-Italian bilateral relations. She highlighted the activation of various bilateral cooperation mechanisms, political consultations, and reciprocal high-level visits, all of which underscore the commitment of both nations' leaderships to strengthen coordination. The Minister emphasized the significance of utilizing this strong relationship to achieve tangible cooperation in digital tourism promotion, particularly by benefiting from Italian expertise in the field. She welcomed the project's launch, reaffirming the ministry's readiness to facilitate its implementation in coordination with diplomatic channels, noting that the project's initiator, Mr. Benadjoud, residing in Verona, Italy, exemplifies the diaspora's interest in national development. The Italian official, in turn, expressed Italy's willingness to implement the project and contribute to its funding, aligning with the strong bilateral ties, and praised Algeria's positive engagement with the proposed cooperation.
