Ministry of Housing Signs Pact for Home Reconstruction Acceleration

Algeria's housing sector has concluded an agreement designed to define funding and implementation mechanisms for rebuilding homes classified in the 'red category', thereby accelerating the pace of work and ensuring support for affected families. This initiative forms part of ongoing efforts to assist families impacted by recent fires, underscoring the Ministry of Housing, Urban Planning and the City and Urban Development's commitment to timely reconstruction.

The signing ceremony took place at the Public Real Estate Promotion and Management Office in Jijel province. Representatives from the National Housing Bank and the Jijel Housing Directorate were present, alongside officials from Public Real Estate Promotion and Management Offices across several wilayas, including Batna, Skikda, Constantine, Setif, Bouira, Bejaia, Jijel, and Mila, who also participated in the proceedings.

The agreement aims to streamline financing and implementation for these reconstruction projects, contributing to the swift execution of planned operations and overcoming any associated challenges. This comprehensive approach is intended to provide suitable conditions for the re-housing of families whose homes were damaged or lost in the fires. The Ministry, under the oversight of Minister Mohamed Tarek Belaribi, continues to monitor reconstruction efforts and support all involved parties to ensure project progress on the ground and improve living conditions for these families.

Coordination among the National Housing Bank, housing services, and the relevant Public Real Estate Promotion and Management Offices is expected to establish a robust mechanism for supporting reconstruction projects. This will involve defining clear frameworks for financing and implementation, tailored to meet the specific needs of affected families and further expedite the overall process of assistance and recovery.
