National Security, Economic Sovereignty Highlighted by Tebboune

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune recently held a periodic interview with representatives of the national press, addressing various national and international issues. During this dialogue, President Tebboune confirmed the dispatch of military aircraft to Niger, characterizing the action as a response to an attempted coup in August, which he viewed as a provocation towards Algeria.
Regarding national economic priorities, the President reiterated the state's commitment to preserving citizens' purchasing power, clarifying that farmers are largely not responsible for recent price increases in fruits and vegetables. He stated that efforts are underway to strengthen non-hydrocarbon revenues and projected that Algeria's foreign exchange reserves would remain high by 2031, contrary to some international financial institution forecasts. President Tebboune affirmed that this economic approach is fundamentally a matter of national sovereignty.
Furthermore, President Tebboune emphasized the critical role of Algeria's scientists, stating that the nation's current development level demands their active contributions. He also highlighted Algeria's advanced stage in digitalization and reaffirmed the country's independent foreign policy, stressing that Algeria maintains strong relations with key global powers, including Russia, China, and the United States, without compromising its dignity or free decision-making.
