Public Service Expands with 4,000 New Penal Institution Roles

The General Directorate of Prison Administration and Reintegration (DGAPR) has announced a comprehensive recruitment drive, offering a total of 4,000 positions within its penal institutions. This initiative includes 50 roles for Principal Re-education Officers, exclusively for men. Additionally, 150 Re-education Officer positions are available, with 110 designated for men and 40 for women. The largest intake is for 3,800 Re-education Agent positions, comprising 3,200 for men and 600 for women.

Candidates interested in these public service roles must register electronically through the official DGAPR website. The application process, which is based on tests, entails meeting specific criteria, including age, nationality, height, visual acuity, and demonstrating physical and psychological aptitude. Prospective recruits are also required to confirm their situation regarding national service. Successful applicants will undertake a specialized one-year training program, after which they will be assigned posts according to the administration's operational needs.

The application procedure also specifies several documentary requirements, such as medical and administrative justifications. Incomplete applications will not be processed, and only online submissions are accepted, with no ordinary mail applications considered. A fee of 300 dinars applies to Principal Officer and Officer grades, while the Re-education Agent grade incurs a 200 dinar fee, payable to the DGAPR's central advance payment agency. This significant recruitment effort represents a positive step in enhancing public sector employment and strengthening Algeria's correctional services.
