Public Treasury Sukuk ‘Ijarah’ Priced on Algiers Bourse

The Algiers Stock Exchange has announced the integration of sovereign Sukuk 'Ijarah', issued by the Public Treasury, into its official pricing. This significant development involves the inclusion of Sukuk valued at 137.4 billion DZD on the exchange. The total issuance amounted to 296.6 billion DZD, with the remaining 159.2 billion DZD subscribed physically at an annual lease rate of 6 percent.

This step underscores the evolution of the Algerian financial market and reinforces the position of Islamic Sukuk within the national financing system. The initiative is part of a proactive approach aimed at modernizing Algeria's financial infrastructure, diversifying its funding sources, and aligning its financial instruments with international standards.

The subscription process for these sovereign Sukuk, a first of its kind in Algeria, commenced in January 2026. The targeted total amount of 296.6 billion DZD is specifically allocated to finance major public projects across the nation.

These funds are designated for critical areas such as infrastructure development, essential equipment, and public services. This strategic allocation is expected to contribute directly to the economic and social development of Algeria.
