Ségolène Royal Notes Algeria’s Key European Energy Pacts

Ségolène Royal, President of the France-Algeria Association, recently drew attention to Algeria's robust economic engagements with key European nations. Speaking on a French radio channel during a discussion on international relations, Royal underscored Algeria's role in forging significant partnerships, particularly in the green hydrogen sector. Her comments highlighted Algeria's active participation in substantial agreements with major European partners.

This observation follows the signing of a Joint Declaration of Political Intentions by Algeria, Austria, Germany, Italy, and Tunisia. This declaration, made last Thursday, formalizes a shared commitment to strengthening regional and Euro-Mediterranean cooperation in the critical field of green hydrogen. The initiative specifically underlines the strategic importance of the SoutH2 Corridor, a project designed to advance collaborative efforts in renewable energy.

Royal's remarks emphasize that while some economies face challenges, Algeria continues to attract and secure important agreements with prominent international partners. This showcases Algeria's strategic position and its capability to establish impactful collaborations within the European and Mediterranean regions, particularly in forward-looking energy sectors.
